LAEN-ABWA Ten Year Anniversary

The Lancaster Area Express Network has been empowering women for the last ten years in Lancaster County. It started with a vision from a few ladies who were already members of the American Business Women’s Association. While attending a National Conference Pam Carvell, Lori Willwerth and Eileen Royer learned of a new concept the national association was introducing called “Express Networks”. The need to streamline the organization to a 90 minute meeting with informative speakers sparked their interest. Formation began of the Lancaster Area Express Network (LAEN) and the group chartered with 24 members on June 14, 2006. Today the group has grown to 80 members and is flourishing.

The meetings bring business and leadership skills to our Lancaster County community. ABWA/LAEN provides a safe and supportive learning environment for members to take such steps so that they realize their full potential and gain maximum career growth and employability.

The American Business Women’s Association is a prestigious, national organization established for workingwomen and women business owners. It is a community where women can be part of a national organization with a local connection, come together to gain career development and pursue business opportunities while being influenced and mentored by like-minded women who really care.

LAEN has introduced many successful women throughout our community. It becomes a sisterhood where members can truly reflect and act on the mission of ABWA, which is to bring together business women of diverse occupations and to provide opportunities for them to help themselves and others grow personally and professional through leadership, education, networking support and national recognition.
The Lancaster Area Express Network meets the third Wednesday each month at the Lancaster Country Club. Meeting time is 7:15 a.m. to 9 a.m. For more information or reservations, please contact Lori Willwerth lwillwerth129@comcast.net

LAEN-ABWA chapter is responsible for bringing the ABWA National Conference to Lancaster, October of 2017. LAEN’s continued growth and excellence in business practices continue to open doors for business women to grow professionally and personally while building lasting relationships that have a positive impact on our local economy and community.

July 20: No Comparison to You: How Confidence Blooms from Contentment

Lisa McCoy, Reveal Redeem Restore Comparing comes almost as naturally as breathing. We often do it without even thinking. But when we compare, we are either putting ourselves down or judging others and seeing ourselves as better than them. One thought makes us feel bad and the other makes us feel superior. Either way we are more focused on others and what they are doing than on what we are doing with what we have been given.”– Quote from Faith and Fitness for Life: A 40 Day Transformational … [Continue Reading...]
