An Empowered Mindset As the Foundation of Transformation
Bad things sometimes happen to good people. It’s life. However, the right, positive mindset can help you see the opportunities embedded in whatever challenges you face – personally or professionally. Join us as Carol shares her own story and demonstrates how she used positive-focused thinking to keep moving her forward on her journey of success.
A lifelong resident of Lancaster County and 26-year veteran in the financial services industry, Carol Brian is passionate about serving, educating, empowering, and motivating women to achieve financial independence.
Considered one of the top financial services representatives with PennWood Financial Group (an office of MetLife), Carol is a member of—with Circle of Excellence distinction—the Philadelphia Tri-County Women In Financial Services (WIFF).
Carol has experienced both hardship and success, which taught her to understand and respect the value of money. The youngest of six daughters, Carol was in second grade when her 43-year-old father died unexpectedly, leaving her family with a meager $10,000 life insurance policy to rebuild their lives. After 20 years of being remarried, her mother again found herself a widow. Just two years after her stepfather died, Carol’s mother succumbed to ovarian cancer; Carol was executor to the estate. Appalled by the complexity of settling financial affairs, Carol committed herself to serving as an advocate of others as they navigate the maze of paperwork and procedures. Her professional calling is to help other women to move forward after financial misfortune.
Besides her professional commitments, Carol also volunteers her time to the community as a member of the Lancaster Chamber Women in Business Mentor Program Advisory Group and Chair of the Ephrata Chamber Women in Business program. In addition, she is Past President and currently serves on the Membership Committee of ABWA’s Lancaster Area Express Network.
On a personal note, Carol enjoys traveling, hiking, biking, amateur photography, and beach combing. She is married to husband, Alan, and they have one amazing daughter, Allison.
